About Lora

Lora Al-Awar,
Taoist Bodywork Practitioner for Men

As a Taoist bodywork practitioner, I've spent 15 years helping men reconnect with their energy, confidence, and vitality, in a space that is private, respectful, and free of judgment.

My Story

I grew up with Siberian roots, surrounded by a culture that treats the body, nature, and spirit as one. That way of seeing never left me, and it led me to the Healing Tao tradition, where I found a practical, grounded path to wellbeing.

My path to this work began when I discovered the teachings of Mantak Chia, and the ancient Taoist understanding that a man's sexual energy can be cultivated, conserved, and guided, rather than simply spent. I was struck by how much these practices could change: a man's confidence and control, his sense of vitality, and the depth of connection in his relationship. I realized how few men are ever taught any of this, and how many quietly struggle alone. That's when I knew this was the work I wanted to share.

Today my work blends Taoist practice with the Eastern and Slavic knowledge I carry. I'm a certified Healing Tao USA Qigong Instructor, trained with Michael Winn here in Asheville, and a certified Universal Healing Tao practitioner, trained in Chiang Mai, Thailand. My aim isn't for anyone to depend on me. It's to help each man rediscover his own strength, and leave with tools he can use for the rest of his life.

My Training as a Taoist Bodywork Practitioner

Healing Tao Training

Trained in the Healing Tao tradition, including Chi Nei Tsang and Karsai Nei Tsang, with Taoist Grand Master Mantak Chia and Karsai Nei Tsang master Khun Ni in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Guasha & Tok Sen Bodywork

Two traditional techniques learned in Chiang Mai, Thailand: Gua Sha, gentle scraping along the skin with a smooth tool to ease tension and encourage detox & circulation, and Tok Sen, a rhythmic tapping technique with a wooden tool that releases deep tension along the body's energy lines.

Life Pulse

A gentle Thai bodywork technique I learned in Chiang Mai, Thailand, that works with the natural pulse and rhythm of the body. Slow rocking and rhythmic pressure help release deep tension, encourage healthy circulation, and bring a profound sense of calm.

"Your body already knows how to restore itself. My work is to help you remember."
